
Two people were convicted at Newry Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Sanda Varga (35) of Chapel Street, Newry, claimed Universal Credit totalling £3,064 whilst failing to declare a change in joint living arrangements.
She was sentenced to four months imprisonment suspended for two years.
Dorel Varga (34) of St Malachy’s Park, Camlough, claimed Universal Credit totalling £3,064 whilst failing to declare a change in joint living arrangements.
He was sentenced to four months imprisonment suspended for two years.
Both are also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
