A man who went on a crime spree across Newry last Hallowe’en has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Ryan McCambly, with an address with the Simon Community in Downpatrick, was handed the sentence at Newry Crown Court today (Wednesday).
The 23-year-old was sent down for robbery, criminal damage to four police vehicles, assault on police, possession of drugs and breaches of a number of suspended sentences.
All charges relate to October 31, last year.
The four police cars, which were parked on Martin’s Lane in Newry, were damaged using a claw hammer.
Police in Newry said they were “pleased” with the result.
