A Markethill local is set to run a coffee morning to raise vital funds for a children’s cancer charity – with one and all invited to attend.
Karen Brown will host the fundraising event on Saturday September 5, from 10 – 12 noon in Kilcluney Hall, Markethill with all proceeds for Cancer Fund for Children, a charity that provides vital support to children, young people and families impacted by cancer.
Supported by Armagh Support Group Cancer Fund for Children this coffee morning is open to the general public and will include coffee, tea, delicious scones, buns and cakes, a raffle with fantastic prizes and plenty of fun, all to raise important funds so that children and young people don’t have to face cancer alone.
Speaking on this, Community Champion for Cancer Fund for Children and event organiser Karen said: “The team and I are so excited to welcome everyone to our coffee morning in aid of Cancer Fund for Children.
“As Community Champion for this incredible charity, I have the privilege of supporting with events that take place in my local community, meeting with supporters and helping to raise awareness so that we can continue to be there for children and families when they need us most.
“If you can spare a few minutes, I would love to encourage you to pop by our event. Every penny donated will make such a difference for children with cancer and their families.”
Cormac McMullan, Regional Community Fundraising and Engagement Lead with Cancer Fund for Children said: “Every week in NI, approximately three children and young people (aged 0-24) are diagnosed with cancer.
“The funds raised through this event will help us provide vital services so that these children and their families receive the support they need as they navigate their diagnosis.
