Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following recent burglaries in the Newry area.
Police received a report shortly before 9.10pm on Friday, February 17 that a house had been broken into in the Ashgrove Park area of the city.
Substantial damage was caused to the inside of the property and a sum of money was taken.
Police received a further report at 12.25am on Saturday morning, February 18 of a burglary at a house in the Carnagat Park area of Newry.
Items of jewellery and a sum of money were taken during this burglary and we linking both of these reports.
Detective Sergeant Stewart said: “Thankfully no one was in the properties at the time of the burglaries and our investigation is now underway to determine what happened and who was involved.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in these areas or may have information that could help with our enquiries, to get in touch with police on 101, quoting reference numbers 1933 of 17/02/23 and 34 of 18/02/23.
