Detectives in Ardmore are appealing for information following two burglaries in the Mayobridge and Newry areas.
Detective Constable Dave Skillen said police received a report of a burglary at a house in the Mayo Road area of Mayobridge just after 10pm last Thursday, 1st February.
It was reported that the house had been ransacked.
“It has not been established what, if anything, has been taken,” said the officer, adding that police believed it happened sometime between 11.15am and 9.20pm.
Police received a report of a burglary at a property in the Monks Hill Road area of Newry on the same day, at around 6.25pm.
Detective Constable Skillen said: “Cash and jewellery were reported stolen. We believe the burglary occurred between 2pm and 2.30pm that day.
“We are investigating a possible link between these incidents and would like to hear from anyone with information. Please call Detectives at Ardmore Criminal Investigation Division on 101, quoting reference numbers 1468 01/02/18; 1207 of 01/02/18 should you have any information.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
