One person has been taken to hospital following a serious collision on the A1 on Tuesday morning.
The southbound lanes, near Loughbrickland, have now been reopened.
While police described it as a collision involving a car and a tractor, images circulating on social media suggest it involved a tractor and a lorry.
The incident happened at 7.20am.
A spokesperson for the NI Ambulance Service (NIAS) said: “NIAS received 999 call at 7.21am on Tuesday, November 7 following reports of an RTC in the Newry Road area, Banbridge.
“NIAS despatched one emergency crew to the incident. Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to Daisy Hill Hospital by ambulance.”
There are diversions via the Boulevard Retail Park but please avoid the area if possible.
