A pensioner has had her handbag containing a large sum of cash stolen in Newry.
The incident happened last Wednesday and police today (Monday) appealed for information.
The bag had been in the rear of her silver Corsa car.
The pensioner had visited the bureau de change that morning and had a large amount of money in her bag.
The thieves struck some time between 3.40pm and 4pm.
A PSNI spokesperspn said: “Police are keen to speak to the occupants of a large southern registered vehicle possibly from Carlow.
“This vehicle had a young boy who was running between parked cars at this time.
We would also like to speak to persons with any dash-cams or noticed any suspicious behaviour in the area of Castle Street, Lidl, Newry.”
Anyone who has any information or can help in any way can contact the PSNI on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 904 of the 29th August 2018.
Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously via the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
