Police are currently investigating the sudden death of a man in Newry last night (Monday).
Investigators are at the scene in the Springfarm Heights area of the city.
A PSNI spokesperson said a post mortem will be conducted in due course to establish the cause of death.
Newry and Armagh Sinn Féin MLA Liz Kimmins said she, and the entire community, were shocked at the news of the young Newry man’s death.
The MLA said: “I am shocked and saddened at the tragic news of the sudden death of a young man.
“My first thoughts are with the family of the deceased as they try to deal with the sudden loss of a loved one.
“Details into the circumstances of the tragic death of this young man are unclear and police are currently investigating.”
PSNI UPDATE 3.30pm: A post mortem has taken place this afternoon to determine the cause of death of a man who was found dead at his home in Springfarm Heights in Newry last night (Monday 14th December). Police are awaiting toxicology results. There are no further details at this stage.
