Three men have been arrested in a police operation in Newry following a report of a theft today (Thursday).
While details are limited at this stage, police say it occurred in the Canal Quay area of the city.
After carrying out patrols in the area, officers located the suspects in the Hill Street area.
The men were arrested on suspicion of theft, going equipped for theft, and possession of a Class C controlled drug.
They remain in custody at this time, assisting with enquiries.
Police Sergeant McBride commented: “An investigation is ongoing, and officers are appealing to anyone who may have any information which may assist them, to get in touch.
