Police are currently investigating an arson attack on a primary school in Newry last night (Tuesday).
The old St Colman’s Abbey Primary School in the Courtney Hill area of the city was targeted by the arsonists.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service was alerted just after 7pm and extinguished the fire, which was contained to one room, soon after.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “If you can assist our investigation into this in any way, whether you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time, or have any information on whoever was responsible, give us a call on 101 quoting reference 1192 of 19/6/18.”
