A woman was taken to hospital this morning (Tuesday) after she had to be cut free from her car when a tree fell on it during Storm Barra.
The accident happened on the Tandragee Road, Newry, just before 9.30am, on a section of road between Drumbannagher Wall Road and Gambles Road.
A spokesperson for the NI Fire and Rescue Service said two fire appliances attended the incident and firefighters used cutting equipment to free the woman.
Two other male passengers had managed to get out of the car before the Fire Service arrived.
The NI Ambulance Service said it had despatched one emergency crew to the incident.
“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital by ambulance,” a spokesperson said.
The incident was dealt with by 10.36am.
Police said the road has now reopened.
