Tributes have been paid to an amazing husband and daddy following the tragic end to a missing persons search on Tuesday.
The family of 32-year-old Christopher Dowdall launched an appeal for help locating the father-of-one, from Dundalk, after he left for work in Mullaghbawn on Monday but never showed up.
Sadly, that search was stood down on Tuesday following the discovery of a body at Flagstaff.
There has been an outpouring of grief at the shocking news, for a young man, who only last weekend was in Liverpool with his friends.
One friend wrote: “We are just beyond devastated and heartbroken. You were the most amazing husband to Christine, daddy to your little princess Bonnie and friend, who would make a horse laugh! You lit up every room you walked into with your giddy personality. My god will we miss you. Please watch over your beautiful girls we promise to mind them for you always.”
Another friend described Christopher as a “great character, friend, husband and father who would do anything for anyone; a gentleman you’ll be badly missed until we meet again pal.”
Another commented that Christopher’s smile “could light up a nation”.
Funeral details have not yet been released. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all who knew Christopher at this difficult time.
