A teenager accused of sending an abusive message to First Minister Arlene Foster has appeared in court.
Mark Gareth Alfred Sloan, 18, of Ballykeel Court, Ballymartin, Newry, appeared before Magistrates’ on Wednesday morning.
The defendant is alleged to have sent a grossly offensive and indecent Facebook message to the social media page of the DUP leader on July 4.
Sloan was remanded on £250 bail to appear back in Newry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 6.
He was ordered not to make any contact, directly or indirectly, with Arlene Foster.
He was also banned from using Facebook and any other social media site.
