Three Northern Ireland football league officials were injured in a serious road traffic collision en route to a match in Newry.
NIFL made the decision to postpone the Danske Bank Premiership fixture between Newry and Glentoran at the Newry Showgrounds.
The match had been due to kick-off at 7.45pm last night (Friday).
Shortly before 7pm the NIFL confirmed the fixture was being postponed due to what was described as a “serious traffic incident” in which three match officials were involved.
It happened on the Warrenpoint Road.
The three had been travelling together to officiate at the match when a collision occurred.
The NIFL provided an update on the officials on Saturday afternoon in a statement.
It said: “Three of the match officials were taken to hospital and underwent tests, however we are pleased to advise that all individuals have subsequently were discharged and have returned home to their families.
“Our thoughts are with all the match officials and we wish them a speedy recovery.”
Both Newry City FC and Glentoran FC have offered their “best wishes” to the three following Friday’s accident.
