A trial date has been set in the case of a County Down man accused of multiple child sex offences including grooming and paying for sexual services.
Lee Haughian, 27, of Oldtown Lane in Annalong, appeared for arraignment at Newry Crown Court on Tuesday.
Haughian faces a total of 12 charges, all of which are alleged to have occurred on dates between January 1 and May 22, 2023.
He faces two charges of meeting a child following sexual grooming and three of engaging in a sex act involving penetration with a child under the age of 16.
Haughian is further charged with three counts of paying for the sexual services of a child, two of incitement to distribute indecent photographs and further charges of possessing an indecent photograph of a child and sexual communication with a child.
Appearing in court, the accused entered ‘not guilty’ pleas to all charges.
His Honour Judge Paul Ramsey KC fixed a date for trial of March 1 next year, with a review ahead of that on October 20.
Haughian was released on continuing bail.
