Detectives have arrested two people on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was found with stab wounds in Newry in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
Police were called shortly after 6am to reports of an altercation at a property in the Woodhill area of the city.
Inside, officers discovered a man with stab injuries. No update on his condition has yet been released.
A man and a woman, both in their 30s, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. They remain in police custody this afternoon, assisting detectives with their enquiries.
Detective Inspector Lewis said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident this morning, and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened, or who has any information which might assist, to get in touch.
“The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 340 of 06/09/26.”
