A major Newry apartment block development with underground parking has been approved this week.
The construction of 44 apartments on the Dublin Road will see two four storey blocks of equal measure and one detached home.
The application was originally submitted in 2007 and has since seen the amount of apartments being reduced from 79 to address any issues over development.
Architects, Milligan Reside Larkin Ltd lead the consultancy team that have designed the plans for the development to include 35 underground parking spaces with a total parking capacity of over 70 for residents.
The applicant’s identity has not been provided on the planning application.
The demolition of two existing buildings will need to be carried out before construction can be completed.
The application, which appeared on Newry, Mourne and Down Council’s addendum lists was passed without any request for speaking rights or debate in chambers.
