Two people have been arrested following the seizure of heroin outside Newry.
The arrests were made yesterday evening when a car the men were travelling was pulled over by police.
A 34-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman have been arrested by police from Belfast, following the seizure of £15,000 worth of suspected Heroin just outside Newry.
Police say the contraband was bound for sale in Belfast.
Chief Inspector Kelly Moore said: “The arrests were made after officers stopped a car outside Newry yesterday evening.
“This proactive operation is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the supply of incredibly harmful drugs and substances coming into Belfast, and keep people safe.
“Both people remain in custody this evening assisting us with our enquiries.
