Two men suspected of being involved in a crime spree made off on foot after the car they were travelling in crashed into another outside Newry.
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon.
Officers from response in Ardmore were made aware of a road traffic collision involving a maroon Vauxhall Zafira. It had collided with another vehicle within the vicinity of Lurganare – just outside Poyntzpass, north of Newry.
Prior to police arrival the occupants took off on foot across the fields, however, both men were apprehended when officers gave chase.
Police believe the vehicle was involved in several incidents within the Banbridge and Newry area during which vehicles were broken into and numerous items stolen.
Police were appreciative of the members of the public who helped direct the chasing officers to the suspects.
