Homeowners in south Armagh and Newry are being urged to remain vigilant after reports of suspicious activity around a number of houses.
MLA Conor Murphy has urged residents in the area and the Old Warrenpoint Road in particular to be mindful of their own, and their neighbours’ security.
“We have had a number of reports of suspicious activity in the area,” said Mr Murphy.
“According to the reports strange people have been wandering around houses, shining torches in windows. I would urge people to take whatever precautions they can to protect their property,” he said.
“I would also ask people to keep an eye out for their neighbours, in particular those who may be more vulnerable.
“While protecting your own property is right and proper, it’s only when communities stand together as one that criminality will be defeated.”
