A 65-year-old woman will appear in court later this month following the seizure of hundreds of fake designer goods in Newry on Thursday.
The woman was arrested following an operation by Organised Crime Unit detectives.
She has been charged with a number of offences, including fraud by false misrepresentation, possessing items that breach a registered trademark and possessing criminal property.
The charges follow a search in the Newry area where nearly 500 items of suspected counterfeit designer goods and a BMW car were seized.
Among the items were suspected counterfeit jewellery, watches, handbags, purses and footwear, which police suspect were being sold for hundreds of pounds each.
The accused is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court on September 28.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
