A Newry woman wept in court today (Wednesday) as she was charged with exposing her genitals.
In addition to being accused of exposure of her genitals on September 14, this year, “intending that someone would see them and be caused alarm or distress”, 40-year-old Rosemary Teresa Travers was also accused of using disorderly behaviour at Iceland supermarket on the same date.
Appearing at Newry Magistrates’ Court by videolink from her solicitors office, Travers, from Clanrye Park in the city, confirmed she was aware of the charges and repeatedly used a handkerchief to wipe away tears.
Constable Glasgow told the court she believed she could connect Travers to each of the offences and with the prosecution applying to adjourn the case for a “full file”, District Judge Eamon King put the case back until December 8.
