A woman was air-lifted to hospital after a “very serious incident” in Newry today (Saturday).
According to the MP for the area, it happened at the Chancellors link during the early hours of the morning.
“A woman has been airlifted to the Royal Hospital in Belfast with her injuries described as serious but not life threatening,” said Sinn Féin Newry and Armagh representative Mickey Brady.
And he added: “I was deeply shocked to hear about the incident this morning and hope that the woman involved makes a swift and complete recovery.”
The PSNI and other emergency services attended the scene earlier this morning.
A spokesperson told Armagh I they had received a report “following a concern for safety at the Chancellors Road area”.
“A woman was taken to hospital following the incident,” the spokesperson confirmed.
