A £500,000 environmental improvement programme in Newtownhamilton has been given the go-ahead.
The works will centre on Dundalk Street.
A planning application was submitted just before lockdown.
And that has now been approved by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
The improvement scheme will see the installation of new granite kerbs, trims and dished channels, asphalt footpath with stone chippings.
There will also be new street lightning put in place, while overhead wires will be removed.
A contract for the work has been awarded to County Antrim-based Whitemountain.
The plans for Newtownhamilton – which have been widely welcomed – are part of an overall £3.2 million programme for villages across the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area.
