Security lines at Belfast International Airport are stretching right out the main terminal door this morning (Monday).
Travellers flying from the airport are facing long delays and frustrating waits of more than an hour to get through to departures.
The airport has come under fire on social media this morning.
However, last month the airport confirmed it was expanding its security area from six to eight search lanes but that this would result in them having to reduce the number of lanes to carry out the expansion work.
An Airport spokesperson, on Sunday, said: “Our Security area is expanding to 8 search lanes! However, to do this we must will reduce the security lanes from 6 to 5 until Mid-March.
“We understand this may cause some delays & are advising customers to arrive 2 hours prior departure. We thank you for your continued patience.”
