There were 12 further Covid-related deaths reported by the Department of Health today (Monday).
Today’s stats – according to the official dashboard – takes in the last 24 hours.
The overall total number of deaths recorded by the Department now stands at 1,366.
There were a further 1,801 cases reported in the last 24 hours, with 252 in Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon – the second highest in NI – and a further 220 in Newry, Mourne and Down. There were 170 cases in Mid Ulster.
A total of 4,731 individuals were tested.
Over the last seven days there have been 1,921 positive cases in the ABC Borough – the highest in Northern Ireland – compared to 573 in the previous seven day period. There have been 1,454 in Newry, Mourne and Down, and 1,389 in Mid Ulster.
The infection rate (per 100k) is highest in three Co Armagh postcodes: BT60 (1,747.3); BT35 (1,481); and BT61 (1,352.3).
There are 513 – up six – people now in hospital as a result of the virus, 39 of whom are in intensive care units.
There are currently 20 ICU beds available in Northern Ireland.
Ninety-two – up – patients are in Craigavon. To date, 768 patients have been discharged from the Co. Armagh hospital.
There are 23 – down one – Covid patient in Daisy Hill, with nine – down eight – in Lurgan Hospital.
The latest figures comes as a second vaccine begins its rollout in Northern Ireland today.
Injections of the Oxford/AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine started GP practices with a batch of 50,000 doses initially allocated.
Those aged over 80 will be prioritised.
Northern Ireland is currently in the second week of a six-week lockdown in which non-essential retail is closed.
