It’s here! Northern Ireland’s new Air Ambulance has landed tonight!

It’s finally a reality.

Northern Ireland’s first Air Ambulance has arrived.

The EC135 helicopter has taken up residence at its new home tonight (Tuesday), at Enniskillen Airport.

The drive to get the Air Ambulance up and running got a huge community response following the death of Tandragee medic Dr John Hinds.

The ‘flying doctor’ died during a practice race at Skerries, but it had been his early campaigning which led to the air ambulance becoming a reality.

The family of Lesley-Ann McCarragher, who died after being struck by a vehicle on the Monaghan Road, near Milford, have also been fundraising actively for AANI in the teenager’s memory.

The sight of the new craft at Enniskillen will be warmly welcomed by all.
