No further Covid-19 related deaths have been reported over the weekend in Northern Ireland, according to the Department of Health.
The death toll remains at 554.
The latest figures from the department show the total number of confirmed positive cases of the virus now stands at 5,756, with nine positive tests recorded over the last 48 hours.
Newry, Mourne and Down saw the biggest increase in cases, with five of the nine reported in the borough.
Lisburn and Castlereagh saw three while Mid and East Antrim reported one.
This morning, many hair salons and barbers across the country re-opened to the public, which no doubt came as a collective relief for many.
Elsewhere, prisons will now begin preparations to ensure all visits areas follow health guidelines to keep staff, prisoners and visitors safe. Visits, under new guidance, will begin on July 27.
Justice Minister Naomi Long said: “The work being done to keep our prisons safe for staff and those in our care has been hugely impressive and I want to pay tribute to the Prison Service and our partners for their dedication throughout this time.
“The careful reintroduction of visits will be welcome progress for families and those in our care: family contact is an important part of rehabilitation and I’m pleased we are now in a position to move this forward.”
