A total of ten new Covid-19-related deaths have been recorded in Northern Ireland in the past 24 hours.

This is an increase on the six reported on Monday.

And there have been a further 85 confirmed cases, up from 76 yesterday.

The total number of deaths now stands at 134.

Cumulatively, there has now been a total of 1,967 cases recorded in Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile, a total of 32 care homes in Northern Ireland have been affected by Covid-19, the health minister, Robin Swann, this morning confirmed.

Among those was Dunlarg Care Home in Keady, where one resident has sadly passed away, while two more in isolation.

However, Northern Ireland’s chief medical officer, Dr Michael McBride, said details about the number of Covid-19 related deaths in care homes remain unclear.

Dr McBride said the process of registering deaths was complicated, involving the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (Nisra).
