The Department of Health has confirmed that a further 10 people have sadly lost their lives to Covid-19.
This brings the total number of deaths to 309 since the start of the outbreak.
It comes as Queen’s University virologist Dr Ultan Power said much remained to be learned about Covid-19.
He told BBC Radio Foyle’s Mark Patterson show: “We only came to know about it in early December 2019, we are still learning a lot.
“There is still a long way to go to understand what it is about this virus that makes it particularly virulent, for the elderly in general.”
And he added: “The virus does not seem to be evolving hugely compared to what you would expect with influenza virus – that is good news from a vaccine point of view and the potential for a vaccine point of view.”
