There have been three more Covid-19 deaths in Northern Ireland, according to the Department of Health (DoH) statistics released today (friday).
One of those deaths occurred in the last 24 hours while two others had not occurred in the current reporting period.
The total of deaths, according to the DoH, now stands at 521.
There are currently 77 Covid-19 inpatients at Craigavon Hospital, which has seen 1,172 patient recoveries to date.
The individuals who have passed away in the ABC borough amount to 53, while Newry, Mourne and Down has registered 33 fatalities.
Earlier today, the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (Nisra) announced that more than half (53%) of Covid-19 deaths were occurring in care homes. That is 380 of the 716 recorded deaths.
However, the weekly total had continued to drop significantly and was at its lowest since March.
Elsewhere, Belfast International Airport says it is cutting up to 20% of its workforce in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The airport is consulting with staff on up to 45 job losses out of a total of 195 workers.
Managing director Graham Keddie said: “We do not foresee air travel returning to pre Covid-19 levels for a few years and therefore we have no alternative but to take this difficult decision to reduce our staff numbers.”
