Parking attendants are cleaning up in Armagh City – or preventing it more to the point!
We couldn’t believe our eyes when we were sent this photo by one of our readers, but yes, that is a council road sweeper getting slapped with a £90 parking fine.
Look closer and you can see the infamous yellow ticket on the windscreen of a mini-road sweeper which is parked outside the library on Market Street.
However, Armagh City Council, took the ticket and told Roads Service where to shove it…..
When we contacted the council we were told that a ticket had indeed been placed on the municipal vehicle in question.
A spokesperson for the council said: “I can confirm if an employee is carrying out duties as part of their job when they receive a parking ticket then this can be rescinded by Roads Services.
“On this occasion the driver of this vehicle was carrying out litter picking duties and therefore Roads Service will be contacted to withdraw this penalty.”
What is the most ridiculous ticket you have ever seen issued? Tell us in our comment section below.
