A good neighbour is someone we all want living among us and their actions and thoughtfulness can make such a difference to the spirit of a community.
The finalists for the Armagh I Good Neighbour Award (sponsored by Tarasis Enterprises) are Mary McCann and Rosaleen Quinn. Vote for your winner here.

Annie said: “This lady has gone above and beyond for the neighbours and elderly and very vulnerable people and families, not only helping the people of Lurgan but also the homeless in Belfast and Dublin.
“She is so giving and kind and would do anything for anyone or any family in need.
“She goes around all the local neighbours and old people with things like bread and milk every single week without fail …and goes out of her way for families who are struggling for heat and electric.
“Mary is definitely the heart of our local community in Lurgan … she has opened the eyes of a lot of people and shown them how bad other people actually have it.
“She is admired by so many and through her own everyday struggles she makes sure that no family, child or elderly person or neighbour goes without.” Vote for Mary here.
Our second finalist Rosaleen Quinn was nominated by Catherine Patton.

Said Catherine: “Rosaleen is genuinely the most helpful, giving, exceptional neighbour that anyone could hope to have.
“As well as being a nurse for the Southern Area Hospice and running her own business you’ll often see her door to door selling tickets, raising money for many charities or making clothes appeals to help those less fortunate.
“Rosaleen would do anything to help anyone and goes above and below to exceed their expectations, be it giving lifts to appointments etc or stepping in when someone doesn’t turn up.
“A lovely person with a great ear for listening and if you ever feel disillusioned about someone Rosaleen will soon set you back on the right track with her advice.
“She is a person of great faith who dedicates herself a few times per year to volunteer with the sick to visits to Lourdes and Medjugorje. Our community would be a lesser place without her.”
