They say that it’s the people in our lives when we are young who influence the people we become. Our Inspirational Educator of the Year Award will highlight those special educators who are truly exceptional in their teaching and how their leadership or mentoring has inspired or captured their student’s imagination.
Do you know a special educator, perhaps a teacher who has gone above and beyond to help a student or someone whose teaching methods have really helped a struggling pupil? This could be a primary school teacher or a someone in further education.
Speaking at the launch of this year’s awards, category sponsor Gary McSherry from MessyPlay NI said: “This category is a good fit for our business as we have the contract to supply the Education Authority with their outdoor learning and development equipment.
“Right across the region there are exceptional teachers and it’s great to see this category included in the Armagh I People of the Year Awards. We see first hand the role that teachers play in the lives of students and it’s great to see the positive impact they have.”
This years winner was Andrew Glenny – that’s Mr Glenny to you and I – a teacher who was nominated by one of his pupil’s parents at the Hardy Memorial School in Richhill.
Now is your time to say thank-you.
