POLICE have appealed to the public for help as they hunt a teenage boy who attacked a woman in broad daylight in Lurgan town centre.
The woman was tailed by the youth for some distance before he attacked her from behind in the High Street area.
The 26-year-old woman was walking her black and tan Jack Russell along Millennium Way onto Union Street last Wednesday, July 24, at around 9.30pm.
According to the PSNI on Union Street, the victim was approached by a male teen who engaged her in conversation.
“Following this the female walked on to High Street and continued in the direction of Avenue Road,” said a spokesperson. “The male was walking a short distance behind her throughout her route.
“Approximately 50m prior to the junction at Malcolm Road the teenager grabbed the female from behind and attempted to force her to the ground. The female struggled and screamed and the male ran off.”
He is described as being about 16 years old, 5ft 10in tall, of slim build with medium length, brown hair which was flat at the top. He was wearing dark coloured tracksuit bottoms with two white stripes at the side and a charcoal grey zip up tracksuit top with a grey hood. He spoke with a local accent.
