Police have issued a description of a man who tried to snatch a handbag from a 59-year-old woman at the weekend.
But the would-be thief fled empty-handed as the woman shouted at him!
The incident happened at Bridge Street in Portadown at around 10.15am on Saturday as the motorist was parking her black Ford C-Max.
Sergeant Barbara McNally explained: “A male opened the passenger side door and attempted to lift a bag and envelope from the seat. The female grabbed the items and shouted at the man who then closed the door.
“The male is described as being around 29 years old, approximately 5ft 5in tall, with short, cropped light brown hair, a goatie beard and generally scruffy in appearance.
“He was wearing a beige, zip up jacket and spoke with a foreign accent. He was in the company of another, slightly taller male.
“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has information in relation to this. We can be contacted in Portadown on 101, quoting ref: 356 160515.”
