Police in Armagh are cracking down on anti-social behaviour in an Armagh car park.
Constable Sinead Mooney, Armagh Neighbourhood Policing Team, said the PSNI have receievd numerous complaints about escalating anti-social behaviour in the car park at Lonsdale Road over the past couple of weeks.
“We have increased patrols in the area and will be adopting a zero tolerance approach to anyone found to be involved in this activity,” she commented.
“We have received reports from members of the public who have been blocked in by other cars and then subjected to a tirade of verbal abuse when they ask the driver to move their vehicle.
“We have also received reports of excess rubbish and diesel poured on the tarmac at the top of the car park – this is beyond reckless and could lead to someone being seriously injured or worse through a collision.
“We will do our utmost over the coming weeks to provide a presence in the area to prevent, detect and deter this behaviour and activity.
“I would also ask the local community, both businesses and residents, to report any incidents to us as they occur. We can be contacted in Armagh on the 101 number.”
