This picture shows the large quantity of alcohol seized by police in the early hours of this morning from a number of buses heading to an ‘after formal’ event.
Police, via their Facebook page, reported that, with the exception of a few, all were under 18 years of age.
The police say that, while the PSNI are not trying to spoil an event which young people see as fun, they would ask that these young people are responsible and think about the consequences of drinking alcohol at a young age.
One in 10 young people who have drunk alcohol have ended up in trouble with the police, it has been reported, and it has been proven that young people who have consumed alcohol are more at risk to themselves of becoming a victim of assault or other crimes.
