Car stopped in early morning search contained ‘large quantity’ of copper wiring, tools, torches and gloves

Police responding to reports of suspicious behaviour stopped and searched a vehicle in the Portadown area only to find it contained copper wiring, tools, torches and gloves.

The reports were made at approximately 1am on May 15 in the Clonavon Avenue area of Portadown.

When police arrived in the area they stopped a vehicle attempting to make off.

Onboard this vehicle were three males and a large quantity of copper cables and wiring. Also onboard was a cutting tool, torches and gloves.

The three males were arrested for a range of offences including Theft and Criminal Damage.

They are currently in custody assisting Police with their enquiries.
