A court heard a man wearing a cap with a tag on it said he did not know it was stolen.

Gareth Bradley (38), of Edward Street in Portadown, is charged with receiving ‘stolen’ goods – a ‘Rab’ cap, three pairs of Diesel jeans and a ‘Barbour For Him’ set on May 24 last year.

The defendant appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday via video link from prison and pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Full details regarding the allegation were not outlined to the court but District Judge Michael Ranaghan noted: “The defence is ‘I didn’t know they were stolen’,” including “the cap with the tag on it which he says he was wearing at the time”.

The case was adjourned to March 13 to fix a date for a contest.
