Deliberate fire in Portadown ‘placed emergency services at unnecessary risk’

Police are appealing for witnesses in relation to an arson attack at a derelict building on Cecil Street, Portadown.

Shortly after 7.30pm on Thursday, October 1, police and fire crews responded to a report of a building on fire.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “We are grateful for the actions of our local firefighters who quickly extinguished the fire and ensured no persons were trapped inside. This deliberate fire placed emergency services at unnecessary risk.”

Police are now appealing for anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward to assist their enquiries.
