Detectives appeal after early-morning burglaries at two Portadown homes

Detectives are appealing for information following two linked early-morning burglaries at houses in Ballyoran Park, Portadown, on Friday, March 6.

Shortly after 5am it was reported that a person had gained entry through the front door of a house but was disturbed by the occupant and left empty-handed.

A short time later, police received a report that the front window of a nearby house had been smashed and a handbag containing a purse stolen from inside.

An attempt was then made to withdraw money using a bank card belonging to the occupant at a shop on the Garvaghy Road at around 5.40am.

Officers in Lurgan are appealing to anyone who was in the Ballyoran Park or Garvaghy Road areas at the time, or who may have information about these incidents, to come forward.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with CCTV, dash-cam or doorbell footage that could assist the investigation.
