An elderly man and his wife were burgled as they celebrated his 84th birthday with family last night (Friday).
The incident happened on the Brownstown Road in Portadown some time between 4.50pm and 7.50pm
The victims’ daughter appealed for help on Facebook, asking for people to share what happened in a bid to catch those responsible.
She said: “Am devastated. Mum and Dad burgled last night (December 29) between 4.50pm and 7.50pm whilst out for Dad’s 84th birthday.
“Scumbags forced their way into the house Brownstown Road, Portadown, totally ransacked the whole place and stole their most personal possessions.
“Cowards every f***ing one of them. Please share this. Let us know if anyone hears of anything. We want these scumbags caught so that they can’t do this to anyone else.”

Detectives in Lurgan investigating the incident are appealing for information.
Detective Constable Connor said: “Sometime between 4.50pm and 7.50pm the house was broken into. It’s understood a quantity of jewellery may have been taken.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the Brownstown Road area between 4.50pm and 7.50pm and noticed any suspicious activity, or anyone who is offered jewellery for sale in suspicious circumstances, to contact detectives at Lurgan Criminal Investigation Branch on the non emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1168 of 29/12/17.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
“I would urge everyone to protect themselves against theft and burglary by locking all doors and windows. Remove all your valuables from sight – both at home and in your vehicle – and remain vigilant to suspicious activity.
“I would also encourage everyone to advise their parents, older relatives and friends about securing their valuables and personal items.”
