MP for Upper Bann, Carla Lockhart explained: “There is currently a significant police and ambulance presence at the Bann Bridge in Portadown.
“Police are in the very early stages of dealing with a serious incident connected to the river.
“I’ve been liaising with the local police team and would encourage everyone to give them time and space to carry out their work.
“Please be assured the situation is very much in hand. There will be some disruption for the next number of hours.
“My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected and our emergency services who day and daily deal with difficult situations.”
