Police are currently at the scene of a security alert in the Upper Church Lane area of Portadown tonight (Tuesday).
A number of homes in the area, close to the Seagoe Hotel, have been evacuated and there are road closures are place.
Police are asking members of the public to avoid the area at this time.
Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart, providing an update shortly after 11pm, said there was a large police presence in the area and asked that they be allowed “time and space to deal with this ongoing incident”.
She added: “Council facilities are open for residents who have been inconvenienced. Hotel staff have been spoken to and the hotel has not been evacuated at this time. Any one with any information please come forward.”
