A Portadown woman with a criminal record – described by a judge as “horrific” – has been given an eight months jail term after appearing in court on multiple offences.

Keara McKeown (30), of Obins Avenue, burgled the property Thomas Street in Portadown and used a stolen bank card at McDonald’s and a filling station in the town on May 7, 2024.

On March 5 this year, she assaulted a male; stole £28 worth of goods from The Range in Portadown; handled stolen goods, namely two T-shirts; had pregabalin; and stole a bail monitoring tag.

The defendant appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court via video link from prison.

A defence lawyer said the defendant had been on remand in custody for several months.

Jailing the defendant, District Judge Natasha Fitzsimons said she had an “horrific record”.
