Portadown Town Hall played host a Tea Dance harking back to the ‘good old days’ last Friday afternoon–
and raised a fantastic £420 for Marie Curie.
Attended by the Lord Mayor, Alderman Gareth Wilson and showcasing the talents of well-known Country singers Kenny Archer, Eugene O’Doran, and Molly Mercedes, it was a day of fun, food, fabulous prizes and plenty of dancing!
Compere and comedian Gene Fitzpatrick kept people entertained while T Knox & Sons and UNCH kept everyone’s energy levels up with some delicious refreshments throughout the day.
“This Tea Dance was a fantastic success,” commented the Lord Mayor “and to have raised such an impressive sum for Marie Curie shows the generosity of those who came on the day to enjoy themselves and make a donation – for that I thank you all.
“Thanks must also go to the many local businesses who kindly contributed prizes to the tombola, meaning everyone went home with something!”
And if you enjoyed the day – or perhaps couldn’t make it this time – watch this space as there will be another event organised in December to support the Cash For Kids charity.
