A Portadown woman who brought a knife to court will have to wait until later this month to learn her fate.
The judge, who said the 35-year-old was at “high risk of losing her liberty”, stated: “This is an exceptionally serious offence and it begs the question, who was she planning on stabbing?”
Kristina Kriacok, of Clendinning Way, pleaded guilty to possession of a bladed article in a public place at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
It was heard that on September 11 the defendant was found in possession of knife at Craigavon Courthouse.
District Judge Bernie Kelly stated: “Given the seriousness of knife crime and the fact she brought it into a court building, I am going to need a pre-sentence report.
“She is in an exceptionally high risk of losing her liberty, this is an exceptionally serious offence and it begs the question who was she planned on stabbing”.
Defence solicitor Conor Downey said: “I will try to explain that on the day.”
Judge Kelly retorted: “I think that will be hard to do.”
Kriacok was released to appear on October 30 for sentencing.
