A Portadown man who is accused of committing an act of “a lewd obscene and disgusting nature” has learned that he will face Crown Court proceedings.
The 55-year-old is alleged to have exposed his penis and masturbated in public.
He was released on bail with a condition not to enter Oxford Island.
William Cook, of Mahon Avenue, appeared charged with committing an act outraging public decency at Craigavon Magistrates’, sitting at Lisburn, on Friday via videolink from his solicitor’s office.
The defendant made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence barrister Joel Lindsay made no contrary submissions.
District Judge Rosie Watters, satisfied there was a prima facie case to answer, released Cook on his own bail with one condition prohibiting him to enter Oxford Island, to appear befor Craigavon Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
