Man arrested after car stolen in Portadown crashes through hedge on Bluestone Road

A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences after a car was stolen in Portadown before crashing through a hedge on the Bluestone Road yesterday (Tuesday).

Police said a silver Kia Sportage was taken from commercial premises in the Carrickblacker Road area around 8.30pm yesterday.

The car was later reported to have collided with a hedge and landed in a field in the Bluestone Road area. It has since been recovered.

The man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, burglary and a number of driving offences.
